Wen-Juan Liu

Hi! I'm Wen-Juan Liu

I am an observational astronomer, currently an Assistant Professor at Yunnan Observatories (YNAO), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). My research topic revolves around the growth of super-massive black holes (SMBH) in galaxies. Specifically, it includes the following: finding massive black holes and observing some SMBH-related phenomena; studying the co-evolution (or not) of SMBHs and their host galaxies (e.g., the redshift evolution of the AGN feedback power, the major/minor mergers, secular evolution ...); statistical studies of SMBHs and galaxies (e.g., luminosity function, BH mass function, accretion rate distribution function, the BH occupation fraction in galaxies, the major/minor merger rates).
