Astro-Sites

Dome Argus Antarctic (Dome A): (from colloquium talk by Prof. Lifan Wang on May 31, 2007 at ASIAA)
Lattitude: 80d25m south, Longitude: 77d21m east. Elevation: 4091 meters. It's a very flat, cold (-90 deg), dry, high site very good for astronomical telescopes. The 3 months of continuous long night allow long time observation of trantient events and all kinds of variations in the sky. Typical seeing is 0.2 arcsec. Good atmosphere transmission for THz bands.
